A Walk With Angkor Wat…

There lives a tale in the lotus filled waters,
Around the captivating pristine quarters,
Of hidden shrines in its reflections
Of a god king’s city of exceptions!

Temples, a palace; a space so vast,
A secret lay hidden in the past.
This find, a stunning world wonder
A temple unparalleled to any other.

It just ascends with such significance
With a multitudinous architectural nuance,
Stupas and pillars fascinating with history,
Wall carvings full of religious mystery.

Journey to a place between two worlds,
A king’s abode touching heaven and earth.
A place more heard then spoken,
Where you feel sensorially awoken.

A sublime silence at dawn,
As the sky’s colours look drawn.
Blinding light with an intense heat,
Smear the skies a colourful sheet…

Shadows formed and yet no silhouettes,
Wall carvings made by a thousand bayonets,
A confluence of religious faiths,
A oneness with the heavenly gates!
