‘Once’ is Old,
And ‘Forever’ is a Myth,
We’ll attend to the stories told,
Your story; to begin with.
You say All is in Grace,
You say that today’s Sun is New,
Then why does ‘ist’ run behind ‘face’?
And Revolutions lead to curfew?
We’ve shed a lot of blood,
We’ve lost our fine young men,
Then why do rivalries still drown us in flood?
I thought we’ve come a long way since ’47.
Why are we being forced to divide?
Why does evil prevail in the name of betterment?
I don’t trust that your stories are meant to guide,
“Mother, should I Trust the government?”
