Masks

Beautifully decorated,
For each their own;
With precision and attention,
They are stitched and sown.

To hold itself together,
While being strong and delicate;
As it stands against the dirt and dust,
Seeming so simple yet intricate.

Some choose to wear them,
And others, to wield.
Every reason being subjective;
To don this versatile shield.

But even for this mighty veil,
To be humbled, all it takes
Is a simple crack to reveal,
The person underneath it, as it breaks.

So proceed with caution;
For a mask merely covers your face.
Fiddle with it ignorantly, and your identity
It will replace.
