Bluish Chastity

Amidst old heritage buildings,
Lost lanes and squares of
the dying city;
Revolving doors and the
smell of an old newspaper,
Rooms dipped in dark
light,
And the cacophony of
smiles,
You caught my eye.
‘Cause you looked stunning
in that blue

Editors and writers in that old room?
Cool ether and warm hearts?
All point towards you.
The ‘you’ dipped in pure blue.
There were so many souls
to choose from,
But I missed a heartbeat
because of you:
Your sulky, cute, dangerous blue.

Raising our eyebrows,
Effortlessly forcing a smile,
Staring at you while someone
talks of the sultry heat
of June, felt cool,
‘Cause you looked cold in
your blues.

You’re probably, another
teenage penchant,
Likely to be as good as new,
You are another wave of adrenaline,
This time dipped in chaste,
passionate blue.
