Draupadi – The Woman

Her lips were pale
Eyes two large shining rocks,
She was put on stake by an ego large.
Man could not face-
his loss in game
So he put forth the woman-
on whom he thought he had a claim.
She appealed to the Lord
He who held the world.
The devil too-
shed a tear
But the womanβs strangled screams-
no one could hear!
The Lord then covered her body-
and weaved his magic,
The elders bowed their heads-
their hearts ripped apart at a scene so tragic.
That woman, that agonised lioness-
took her revenge,
Crafted a war-
so that her wounded pride was avenged.
