Our Life – A Farce

Selfish and ruthless greed
Has enslaved all of us indeed
When we choose to kill;
To accomplish our will –
To cheat and embellish
Plagiarize ideas and publish
Without any trace of guilt,
Our little ‘empires’ are built –
With bribery, nepotism and jingoism
On the foundation of communalism
Cemented by religious fundamentalism
Adorned by casteism, sexism and racism
All in the garb of secularism!
Our life is nothing but a sham
When we constantly proclaim
To be civilized since ages past
Our way of life is a tragic farce!
