I woke up and rushed right into the day
No time to tarry, no time to pray

I had commitments to head out to
So much to handle, so much to do

On my way out I thought of the day and date
A friend’s birthday today, but wishing could wait

My visiting daughter would be gone in a week
But I didn’t even have time with her to speak

But later that evening realization hit hard
As I twisted and fell, on someone’s yard

It resulted in a fracture that tied me to a bed
While umpteen little thoughts circled in my head

Priorities changed I saw things anew
Learnt a big lesson, followed by just a few

To live this life as God willed us to
To value moments & relations, true

Working to live is wonderful and nice
But living to work may not be wise
