Lessons from Children
- a Short Story
- by KR Lakshmi
Rohan and Sohan were at it again.
Their constant fighting over trivial things drove Kavita, their mother crazy. She tried to infuse some sense in them.
Kavita was already tensed. Raju, her brother, had just undergone a kidney transplant surgery and was recovering. It had been very traumatic for the family.
The kids’ fight continued. The mother tried to counsel them.
“Me and my brother, we never used to fight. We were so helpful to each other, siblings should always be like close friends”, she said. She wanted to set an example.
“When your brother required, did you donate your kidney”? The small boy blurted out.
He wanted to know what the mother, who claimed to be so fond of her brother, did when her brother required her help.
Kavita was shocked beyond words.
She realised children are pure souls. There are lessons to be learnt from them!!
