You Asked Me How Much I Love You

To not fall in love with you,
Would’ve been to stop the gushing river
From taking its natural course.
I’d have drowned myself.
To not let you know that I love you,
Would’ve been to stop the raging fire
From setting alight everything it touched.
I’d have burnt myself.
To tell you that I love you,
Was to let the volcano in me erupt
And watch the molten lava of love
Find its way to you.
Both breathtakingly beautiful
And insatiable at once.
My love for you is unbridled, limitless,
And will remain the most impactful event
My body and mind would ever experience
In this lifetime and the next.
