We Too Dream

Children we too are, each with a dream,
A future we see with hope and gleam!!
Born in homes with deprivation,
We seek to realize our aspiration!
Pray, don’t get us wrong,
Give us a chance to walk along!
School and books are our love
Not rake, axe, sickle or glove.
Please don’t shove us behind,
Ignoring our vision by acting blind!
Children we too are, each with a dream,
A future we see which shine and gleam!

from New Delhi, India, has a Bachelor’s in History and a Masters in Sociology. She also holds a degree in Bachelor of Education and has been in the teaching profession for 16 years. Currently on a sabbatical, she is pursuing her passion for writing, reading and travelling.
