Requiem
- a Poem

Let the last man leave,
I’ll wait here wearing my facade.
Hoping for the shell of mediocrity,
To crack open in revelation.
Let the last man leave,
I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve
Promising not to break it again,
Over random acts of passion.
Let the last man leave,
I’ll hide here behind imperfections,
Just wanting to be truly found,
By that one kindred soul.
Let the last man leave,
I’ll wait here as a requiem.
For not everyone is entitled,
To live out their dreams.
