Forever, Never
- a Poem

They sang the verses of love,
Starting- “together, forever”,
As he looked at her blank eyes,
He already knew it was a “never”;
Eyes never lie, they say;
But a lover’s mind is full of illusion,
He could mistake the dark cloud for a glowing rainbow,
And know, how love could leave us forever in a state of confusion,
Yet he would still choose the blanks and the darks,
As his heart would never ask him to stop,
At the lover’s glance, his eyes would still shine,
Not realizing how he’s getting robbed.
