I had only heard but never felt
that true love brings pain
yes, it does but it is
still a beautiful gain
It is so rare to find
and equally hard to hide
but I’m lucky I embraced it
with my arms open wide
He made me laugh
he made me smile
but most importantly
he made me feel alive
Yes, love is painful
when you can’t be together
but it also brings happiness
for a lifetime to cherish
